Job Advert Summary | To ensure that allocated plants/facilities are kept in a presentable, safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water with regards to the general preparation and bricklaying of plant, buildings, residential property, recreational facilities, precast walling, paving, road patch, plastering, tiling, valve boxes, concrete slabs, building scaffolding, at all allocated Rand Water sites. |
Minimum Requirements | Grade 12 (Senior Matric Certificate)N3 Bricklayer and Plastering/Civil Engineering with a recognized trade test as a Bricklayer5 years’ relevant experience in bricklaying environment post trade testWorking on heights and in confined spaces, and physically demanding.Code B drivers’ license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Test.Manage job cards on a daily basis and stand in an acting capacity as and when required. |
Primary Duties | Reporting to the Assistant Building Foreperson at Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Foundations, structures, scaffolding, valve boxes, man holes and concrete slabs.Perform bricklaying, plastering, tiling and concrete work to all buildings on site as and where required.Assess work and required material, receive job cards and allocate work to assistants.Carry out all work, report non-performance, maintain good employee relations, ensure that work area is safe, neat and tidy. |
