Position Purpose:
To assist with the curation, documentation, research, storage, and care of Transnet’s heritage assets. Working alongside the
boarder heritage function to ensure the protection of Transnet’s heritage assets against deterioration, loss and/or theft.
Position outputs:
•Assisting the Senior Manager: Heritage Assets & Preservation, Museum Curators and/or Specialist Librarian in caring for
their collections.
•Assist with the development of exhibitions, installations, and special projects.
•Offering input into exhibition planning, exhibition layouts, and installations.
•Assisting with the supervision of researchers, visitors and public who wish to examine heritage assets, while concurrently
protecting Transnet’s heritage assets.
•Assist with conceptualization, development and implementation of projects and public engagement programmes to support
and enhance exhibitions.

•Assisting with the day-to-day operations; and responding to general enquires related to Transnet’s heritage assets.
•Providing general administrative, research, and project management assistance.
Qualifications & Experience:
•A Bachelor’s degree or B-Tech in Heritage Management, Fine Art, Art History, Curatorship, Heritage Studies, Visual Studies
and/or related Humanities discipline and Business Management.
•Requirement of Trust and Honesty in the handling of Finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment

Competencies:
•Good written and communication skills.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.
