Job purpose
The C&A trainee key role is to become familiar with the companies control and automation / manufacturing systems according to the prescribed training plan and signoff’s.
Once checked out they will be placed into a Process Control Engineer or similar role to:
- Manage, Design, co-ordinate and implement the installations of new process control systems within Brewing, Utilities and Packaging.
- Ensure sustainable integrity and stability of the Control and Automation infrastructure and proactively recommend best practices within the Control and Automation
Key roles and responsibilities
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
- Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Work in teams
- Communicate effectively in teams
- Contribute to self development
- Assist brewery by executing tasks or changes ideally linked to training outcomes
- Act as a Process Control Engineer
Follow the prescribed training plan
- Ensure compliance to training plan
- Revise training plan if slip occurs to bring back on track
- Manage timeline for in plant training
- Make contact with key subject matter experts
- Obtain sign off post each module
Facilitate problem solving and decision making
- Participate in team problem solving
Manage small projects
- Follow the project management principles and execute one or more small projects within a prescribed period
Profile
Education:
- Min – Higher Diploma in Electrical engineering / Software
- Tertiary qualification: Engineering Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering or Computer Science.
Training:
- Min – 3-6 months on the job training as a student
Desired:
- Training: Min – 3-6 months on the job training
