Job Description: Are you ready to take on a dynamic role as a General Worker jobs? Your responsibilities will include:
- Sweeping the warehouse each morning to maintain cleanliness.
- Assisting the picker by using a Pallet Jack to pull stock into assigned cages, ensuring proper placement.
- Offloading trucks with a Pallet Jack and organizing stock as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Creating full pallets by repacking half pallets after Dispatch Supervisor’s stock check, using shrink wrap for secure transit.
- Ensuring pallets are tightly wrapped with shrink wrap to prevent stock movement during transit.
- Keeping the warehouse tidy by picking up and disposing of debris in Waste Bins.
- Supporting truck loading in the absence of the reach truck driver.
- Completing various checklists including Temperature, Pallet Jack, and Hygiene.
- Assisting with stock scanning in loading areas.
- Addressing spillages using provided mop.
- Reporting any warehouse issues to the Supervisor.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and communicate well across all levels.
- Previous experience in a general role is a plus.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and punctuality.
- Ability to thrive and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Availability for extended hours, overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
- Capability to operate in a cold environment.
Duties & Responsibilities: As a General Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Daily warehouse sweeping to maintain cleanliness.
- Assisting the picker with stock movement using a Pallet Jack, ensuring proper placement.
- Offloading trucks and organizing stock based on Supervisor’s guidance.
- Creating secure full pallets after Dispatch Supervisor’s stock check using shrink wrap.
- Safeguarding stock during transit by tightly wrapping pallets with shrink wrap.
- Keeping the warehouse clean by promptly disposing of debris in designated bins.
- Supporting truck loading during the reach truck driver’s absence.
- Completing checklists related to Temperature, Pallet Jack, and Hygiene.
- Assisting with stock scanning in loading areas.
- Addressing spillages using provided equipment.
- Promptly reporting warehouse issues to the Supervisor.
