Detective Services Capacitation Requirements for Re-enlistment

We are pleased to announce the re-enlistment opportunity for 400 former members in the South African Police Service, specifically for the capacitation of the Detective Services. Successful candidates will be re-enlisted in the ranks they previously held (Constable, Sergeant, and Warrant Officer) within the South African Police Service.

Detective Services Capacitation Requirements for Re-enlistment (Constable, Sergeant, or Warrant Officer):

Age: Applicants must not be older than 55 years of age on the closing date of the advertisement.

Other Requirements:

Candidates must meet additional criteria, including a good disciplinary and attendance record, possession of a valid light motor vehicle license, South African citizenship, proficiency in at least two official languages (including English), and compliance with medical and psychological assessments.

Criminal Background: Applicants should have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases. Additionally, they should not have any visible tattoo marks conflicting with the objectives of the Service.

Other Considerations: Candidates must be prepared for possible deployment and relocation at their own expense. They should not be involved in any conflicting business or activity. Refresher courses or additional training may be required, particularly for candidates without formal detective experience.

To apply for re-enlistment, applicants must complete the official application form available on the SAPS website or at SAPS Police Stations.

The Z83 form will no longer be accepted.

The application form should be accompanied by a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae, uncertified copies of relevant documents (ID, Senior Certificate, educational qualifications, service certificates, driver’s license), and must specify the post particulars and reference number correctly.

Applicants should note that late applications will not be accepted or considered. Short-listed candidates will undergo interviews, reference checks, vetting processes, and fingerprint screening.
