Job DescriptionCoca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Logistics department. 
We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Fleet Excellence Manager role, which is based in Midrand. The successful candidate will report directly to the Logistics Director in Midrand, Central Office.Key PurposeTo lead, develop, advise on and support the successful implementation of the fleet strategy, business plan and initiatives, so that the Company complies with all statutory requirements and the strategic priorities of long-term growth opportunities, leveraging scale and building fundamental process, system and people capabilities.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrategy,
Business Planning & Deployment of initiativesDevelop and deliver an effective 3-to-5-year fleet strategy and business plan based on research, benchmarking, analysis, insight and logistics and fleet expertise.Provide input into the Distribution and Warehouse strategies to ensure effective alignment between the three strategies (Fleet; Warehouse and Distribution).Lead the implementation and anchoring of fleet initiatives through regional engagement, business plan review, reporting against business plan progress, statutory reporting, attendance and participation at stakeholder meetings and team meetings.Leading the development and updating of fleet policies, practices and procedures.Monitor financial performance and asset costs, highlight issues and develop solution to achieve the required remedial action.Manage and own the fleet master data directly as well as oversee the Fleet Function throughout the organisation and ensure that best in class fleet practices are implemented.Fleet Management and ReplacementMonitor fleet utilisation and develop solutions to ensure appropriate action are taken to improve this. Monitor market conditions and develop and implement appropriate initiatives to ensure optimisation of fleet management. Lead the effective management and control outsourced services and contracts. 
Ensure optimal Fleet Management system functioning, this includes processes, practices and policies.
Research and develop specifications and guidelines for new fleet acquisitions. 
Ensure optimal process for the acquisition and disposal of fleet, in consultation with the Regional Logistics Managers. 
Evaluate cost effectiveness of proposed fleet acquisitions and ensure compliance with relevant specifications and legal compliance. 
Fleet Maintenance and Contract ManagementOversee the allocation of resources required to maintain and repair fleet. 
Enable and ensure availability of safe, efficient and cost-effective vehicles and equipment. 
Monitor downtime and develop action plans and ensure execution to improve the situation. 
Develop and monitor preventative maintenance procedures within the Fleet environment. 
Oversee the effective management of the outsourced repair and maintenance contracts (OEMs and Contractors).
Engage stakeholders in vehicle design and management, and procurement planning to enable operational efficiencies through optimal fleet availability.
Maintain consultative engagements with Warehouse and Distribution on Fleet upkeep and decisions related to contract management and fleet selection. 
Operational Support and ComplianceOptimise Economic Value Added and return on assets through optimal asset use of life.
Research review and analyse information through fleet industry resources to identify service providers’ available products and services, to ensure the most value to our business.
Review all new vehicle orders received, confirming the vehicle requested in compliance with the Company’s requirements, and monitoring one to one vehicle replacement to control inventory levels.Manage processes and practices for fuelling, maintenance assistance, and vehicle accidents to keep costs down, retain higher remarket values, increase vehicle uptime.
Provide tools to the Drivers to enhance their productivity.Provide critical data for analysing fleet operating costs and generate reports to enable regular evaluation of Fleet trends.
Analyse vehicle inventory count and age of vehicles – to inform decisions regarding correct inventory levels, and disposal of vehicles.Support the development of training interventions for drivers and users in line with business strategy. Review and manage Fleet Audit processes.
Continuously review and implement appropriate IT tools to enable business to optimally manage its fleet, ensure their implementation and source suitable training to ensure anchoring of new behaviour.Benchmark Fleet processes, practices, and policies to ensure continuous improvement.People and Stakeholder ManagementEnsure goals, SLA’s and work routines are clear.

Skills, Experience & EducationA minimum of a B Comm.
Degree or equivalent recognised qualification in Logistics / Fleet.
A post graduate degree (MBA) would be an added advantage.
A minimum 8 – 10 years Logistics experience.
A minimum of 5 years management experience.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of FMCG logistics and fleet systems and processes. 
Sound understanding of Road Transport and related legislation and NOSA.
