As a Graduate Trainee Buyer at Pick n Pay, you will be an integral part of our buying support teams, actively participating in on-the-job training and gaining valuable insights into the retail industry. If you hold a BCom degree (e.g., in Marketing, Finance, Management, Maths, Stats, Economics, etc.) from a reputable university, this opportunity is perfect for launching your career.
Your role will involve compiling reports, conducting research, and presenting innovative ideas for process improvements. You will also assist managers and supervisors, complete fieldwork, and visit different work sites when required. Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is essential for this role, and intermediate MS Excel knowledge is advantageous.
As a Graduate Trainee Buyer, you’ll be responsible for building positive relationships with suppliers, researching new suppliers, and making recommendations to the buyer. You will also learn about space planning fundamentals, retail pricing strategies, inventory management, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, you’ll compile reports on product performance and statistics to contribute to our continuous growth.
